How to start a reinstallation
Kort antwoord
Start a reinstallation from Portal: open the server under Bare Metal, go to its Installation tab, and select Reinstall Operating System. Choose an operating system from the catalogue and a public IPv4 address, and set a new root password. This destroys all existing data on the server, and the form is blocked while a reinstall or a power action is already queued.
Reinstalling a dedicated server wipes the existing operating system and installs a fresh one. Use this when you want a clean setup rather than repairing what's already there.
Start the installation
Log in to Portal
Go to portal.worldstream.com and sign in with your Worldstream account.
Open the server you want to reinstall
Find the server under Bare Metal and select it. Once the server is activated, its detail page shows the Overview, Traffic, Power, Installation, Networking and Remote Access tabs. Some remote and installation actions stay unavailable until the server has been activated.
Open the Installation tab and select Reinstall Operating System
On the Installation tab, select Reinstall Operating System, then choose the operating system from the catalogue, the public IPv4 address to install it on, and a new root password.

Installation
Reinstalling destroys the existing data on the server, there's no in-place upgrade option. The Installation form is blocked while a reinstall or a power action (from the Power tab) is already queued, since power and reinstall actions can't run at the same time.
Validate the installation
Save your password
Make a note of the password before you confirm, in case it isn't shown again afterwards.
Confirm the reinstallation
Submit the Reinstall Operating System form to start the process.
How long it takes
How long a reinstallation takes varies with the operating system and hardware involved. If an installation is taking noticeably longer than expected, contact support.
