Smart outsourcing

Some IT creates added value, while other types are supportive. Use that as a starting point for outsourcing.

Cost Efficiency

Complete IT packages may seem like the safe option, but when you consider the costs, other choices often make more sense.

IT flexibility & control

Outsourcing doesn’t mean losing control; it actually provides more flexibility and control.

Cloud repatriation

The cloud is not a final destination: You should continuously evaluate and adjust your cloud environment as needs evolve.

Configuring a dedicated server when you order it

Applies to Dedicated Servers, ordering on worldstream.comAudience New customer, buyerLast reviewed September 2026

Quick answer

Ordering happens on worldstream.com, not in Portal. Browse or filter the server list, click Configure on a model, then adjust operating system, storage setup, network, and add-on services before adding it to your cart.

The dedicated server list on worldstream.com can be filtered by data center location, delivery time (Instant vs. Custom, see Choosing between a VPS and a dedicated server for the general instant/custom distinction), uplink speed, and processor family. There are also use-case shortcuts (Deals, Storage, Virtualization, DevOps, AI/ML, Database, Gaming) that pre-filter the list toward configurations suited to that workload.

What you can configure

1

Hardware

The server model itself (chassis, motherboard) is fixed once you pick a listing, but processor and memory are shown as their own line items on the configure page, confirming exactly what you're buying.

2

Operating system

A long list of Linux distributions and Windows Server editions is available at configuration time, each shown with whether it's included or carries an extra monthly cost (Windows editions typically aren't included).

3

Storage and RAID

Storage configuration shows the drive setup (for example, two NVMe SSDs) along with the RAID level applied by default, plus a boot-drive preference where more than one drive is present.

4

Network

Bandwidth is offered in tiers, from a fixed monthly traffic allowance up to unmetered.

5

Services and add-ons

The Services section covers optional extras layered on top of the base server:

  • Control panel: none, or a licensed panel such as cPanel or DirectAdmin.
  • DDoS protection: included by default, scalable to a higher mitigation capacity as an add-on.
  • S3 Object Storage: can be added alongside the server, provisioned through Portal, see What is Object Storage?.
  • Remote management: BMC access, remote reboot, and reinstallation, included as standard. See Start console redirection of an out-of-band management for how this works once the server is live.

A running configuration summary on the page updates as you change options, and you can adjust quantity and add the configured server to your cart once you're happy with the setup.
