Continuous Security Validation
Quick answer
Portal runs automated, ongoing security scans on every internet-exposed IP you own, surfacing CVEs, misconfigurations and leaked services before an attacker finds them. The feature is powered by Hadrian, and lives under Security in the sidebar in Portal.
Continuous Security Validation is separate from the OS-level firewall and hardening steps you configure yourself, it's an external, ongoing scan of what your public IPs actually expose to the internet.
What it does
- Scans every public IPv4 you own, from Flexible VPS, firewalls, VPN, Bare Metal, and reserved holds.
- Surfaces exposed services, misconfigurations, and known software vulnerabilities as they're found, not only after an incident.
- Grades each registered IP: Critical, High, Medium, Low, Info, or No risks found.
- Lets you generate a tenant-wide Security Report (by month) and download it as a PDF.
- Matches Security Bulletins to your registered addresses.
Getting started
Deploy something with a public IP
Results appear automatically once you have a VPS, Bare Metal server, or other service with an external network. There's nothing to configure beforehand.
Register an IP for validation
Open Security in the sidebar and use Add to Validation to start (or resume) validating an address. Remove takes it back out of validation. This is separate from the Monitoring page, which is where you configure your own availability checks.
Review findings
Use View Results on a registered IP to see its grade and risks. Use Refresh to re-check an address.
