Signing in to Portal and securing your account
Quick answer
You sign in with single sign-on: one account for worldstream.com and Portal. Enter your e-mail address first, then your password. You can add a second step, a time-based one-time code (TOTP) from an authenticator app. Turn that on from Profile in Portal.
Single sign-on means one login for worldstream.com and Portal. You do not pick among login providers, and there is no separate portal password. Worldstream hands the login itself to an identity provider, so the sign-in screens and the second-factor setup screens belong to that provider, not to Portal.
Sign in, step by step
Go to Portal
Open portal.worldstream.com. You land on the sign-in screen.
Enter your e-mail address
The sign-in screen asks for your e-mail address first, before it asks for anything else.
Enter your password
Then enter the password for that account. It is the same password as worldstream.com, because it is the same account.
Enter your one-time code
If you have set up a second step, you finish by typing the current six-digit code from your authenticator app.
Add a second step
The confirmed second factor is TOTP, a time-based one-time code from an authenticator app. You turn it on from Profile in Portal. Portal shows whether multi-factor authentication (MFA) is active and sends you on to the identity provider's own setup screens.
For the full walkthrough, see Two-factor authentication.
What about passkeys?
A passkey replaces a typed password with something your device holds: a fingerprint, a face scan or a device PIN. It is also called WebAuthn.
The sign-in methods documented today are e-mail plus password, and TOTP from an authenticator app. Passkeys are not among them.
What we can and cannot say: We can tell you which methods are documented. We cannot tell you that passkeys are blocked, because the documentation does not say that either way. If you need a firm yes or no for your own account, ask Support and they can confirm it.
For now, a strong unique password plus TOTP is the protection you can set up yourself today.
Keep your account safe
- Turn on a second step. A password on its own is one leak away from being someone else's password.
- Use a unique password. With single sign-on, this one password opens both worldstream.com and Portal.
- Check your active sessions. Profile lists the sessions active on your account. End anything you do not recognise.
- Keep the user list current. Under Account → Users, remove people who no longer need access and give everyone the narrowest role that still lets them do their work. See Managing users and roles.
Start with the first one. Open Profile in Portal, check whether MFA is on, and turn it on if it is not. If you need certainty about passkeys for your own account, open a ticket in Portal or e-mail support@worldstream.com.
