In August, Worldstream already signed up as the official sponsor of the skating team of Jutta Leerdam and Koen Verweij. Back then under the name NXTGEN. Since Worldstream’s title sponsorship, the skating team will continue as Team Worldstream. The sponsorship will last up to and including the Olympic Winter Games in 2022. Worldstream sees a lot of potential in the skating team and expects to build a bright future together. The goal for Worldstream is clear, the focus is set on winning.
“We have a fantastic partner in Worldstream who, fortunately, appears to be doing well commercially during this time of corona and who has been supportive throughout. We are very grateful to Worldstream for this. Now is the time to build a successful future together,” says Koen Verweij. Leerdam is also happy with the new title sponsor: "It is so great that a company like Worldstream is giving the full 100% and is embarking on this adventure with us to the Olympic Games of 2022. Together we aim for nothing less than the first place!”
The Leerdam and Verweij side has expanded from six to ten skaters and can now officially be called an A team. This is endorsed by Leerdam's ambition. She states to NOS: “It is not easy to become world champion again, you really have to keep on pushing for it.” Which sounds promising. This weekend, from October 30 to Sunday November 1, Jutta Leerdam and Koen Verweij can be seen on NPO 1 during the Daikin NK (Dutch championship) distances. Or follow it live via NOS sport.
About Team Worldstream
What started as Koen's desire to finish his last two years as a skater under guidance of Kosta, resulted in a team where top athletes develop together as a family and bareak through limits under the best available guidance. The team has now grown from six to ten skaters. An open-minded, creative team with unlimited possibilities. We are on a journey of discovery and stimulate each other with our entrepreneurial and creative character.
